Rafael D'Aló is an artist based in the United Kingdom. He graduated from the New School in N.Y. and completed his master's degree in Fine Art at Goldsmiths in London in 2020. D'Aló's practice encompasses painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and installation. His works reflect on the fragility of our complex social web and point to a deeper contemplation of the forces that shape our personal and collective identities.
Rafael's continued interest in the metropolis and the flows of global trade that feed its metabolism brings together industrial materials to reoccur throughout the work and reference the mercantile vernacular. Wall-based pieces, window installations, and free-hanging sculptures nod to each other through subtle enticement and create a gravitational circuit connecting them spatially in delicate installations. The city so often quoted in his works is a mirror to the universe and its laws of attraction, which move both celestial bodies and our internal drives.
The artist has participated in exhibitions in Brazil, Belgium, England, and France and has had two solo exhibitions in London, at V.O. Curations in 2022 and at Kupfer in 2023. In 2023, his piece "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised" was selected for the Sculpture in the City project.
Rafael D'Aló runs the creative, research, and curatorial project Dux Pacifico Inc., based in London.
